Plain terms for a simple purchase.

These terms apply to the DiskBuddy app for macOS, the website at diskbuddy.com, and the licence you buy from it. By downloading, installing or buying DiskBuddy you agree to them. If you do not, do not use the software.

"We" and "us" mean the maker of DiskBuddy. "You" means the person or organisation using it.

A licence is a one-time purchase. It lets you install and use DiskBuddy on one Mac at a time, for personal or business use, for as long as you like. There is no subscription and nothing to renew.

The licence is yours to use, not to sell. You may not share, resell, sublicense or publish your key, and you may not use one key to run the app on more Macs than it covers. You can move it: deactivate a Mac from the app's settings and the seat is free to use elsewhere.

You may not reverse engineer, decompile or modify the app, or work around its licence check, except where the law expressly allows it.

Every 1.x release is included in your licence at no extra cost. A future major version may be a paid upgrade, and if it is, we will say so plainly and your 1.x licence keeps working.

We may add, change or retire features between releases. We do not promise any particular feature will exist forever.

You can download the app before you buy. It asks for a licence key on first launch. Once a key is entered, the app checks it online and then keeps working for two weeks without a connection, so a flight or a bad network never locks you out.

If DiskBuddy is not what you expected, email hello@diskbuddy.com within 14 days of buying and we will refund you in full. A refunded key stops working.

A payment reversed through your bank or card issuer without contacting us first is treated the same way, and the key is revoked.

DiskBuddy runs on your Mac and reads the drives you point it at. It never uploads anything about your files; the privacy page describes the one licence check it does make.

Deleting is your decision. The app stages items for cleanup and removes nothing until you confirm. Even so, it is a tool that deletes files at your direction, and you are responsible for what you choose to remove. Keep a backup. Specifically, we cannot be responsible for:

DiskBuddy is provided as is. We work hard to make it accurate and safe, but we do not warrant that it is free of errors, that its size figures match another tool's, or that it will suit a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude all implied warranties.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything arising from DiskBuddy, the website or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits or lost time.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including consumer rights that apply where you live.

We may revoke a key that is shared, resold, used beyond its seats, obtained by fraud, or used to break these terms. You may stop using DiskBuddy at any time by deleting the app.

We may update these terms. The date at the top changes when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be noted on this page.
